i like your
site a lot... passed it onto my daughter as well. I am a Deer Medicine
woman and Black Jaguar Medicine. Since i carry both, i have to
follow the spirit of deer: Strength with Gentless and the Jaguars
complete opposite of slayer and night warrior. Its a good balance for
me in my work. What is your passion? Karate, Sholin,
Boxing? Mary

It
actually took me 35 yrs to realize I had the strength to make it on my
own. There is a poem from my childhood that goes(see below). That also
corresponds to the subject.
"Do not walk in front of me....I may not follow.
Do not walk behind me....I may not lead.
Just walk beside ...and be my friend."
I checked out your myspace. It is very interesting. I like you blog:
"And yet it is a valid, okay option when in a life or death situation.
One of the things this site addresses is self defence. That is part of
the warrior woman model. To fight back when need be, not be a passive
victim."
I am in my own ways a warrior woman as are many of my friends. It seems
like some of our beliefs are similar. It seems strange that it is hard
to find people of honor, respect and courage in this day and age. I am
sadly disappointed by many of the profiles I have read on myspace. I
would like to talk more with you also. I heop all is well with you.
God Bless

My mum actually teaches a class in our town called
"Refuse to be a Victim" it's taught by her and three other women from
the police department here. It's basically what it says. Teaching women
how to be safe in the world and not make victims of themselves. My mum
actually let me go once (She's afraid I'll heckle, I only did a little
:)) They teach women to be observant of their surroundings, that it's
ok to be rude (because some people who want to hurt us take advantage
of our good natures, and nuturing characteristics) there's even how you
should situate your home. Like having a room that's the safe room (you
should have a sturdier door that is harder to break through, charging
your cell phone in your bedroom so that if someone breaks into your
home and cuts the phone lines you have you cell right there, Planting
spiky bushes in front of your home so that predaters can't hide in them
waiting to pounce and all kinds of other stuff. Yea, it's funded by the
NRA don't know if you have qualms about guns or dislike Charlton
Heston...:)
I personally sleep with a katana next to my bed (not joking). I'm
slightly paranoid (having been raised by two cops)
That's not all my mum does. She's a youth probation officer, Our PD has
a program called youth diversion which is for youngsters who are first
time offenders and are unlikely to commit another crime. Basically for
good kids who do something dumb. It's the probation equivalent of
traffic school and if you complete it your record is clear. It's neat
too because they send the parents to a series of special classes also
called "Parent project" (which my mum also teaches) She's a jack of all
cop trades.
She's also been : A detective specializing in child abuse/sexual
assualt (Think Law & Order SVU), She was the on campus cop at my
high school for three years (convienently while I was attending high
school ;p), SHe's been a patrol officer on and off through the years,
She's also the composite artist for her PD and a spanish translator.
She's been a cop for 25 years. And was the second female police officer
EVER at her PD! She's pretty impressive (and I'm really proud of her if
you haven't noticed!) SHe's also really liberal which doesn't work well
as a cop. And she's an artist. She has a degree in Fine Arts and is
going to teach art at a high School when she retires in four years from
police work. She also has a degree in Criminal Justice. Damn, she's
cool!
My dad is a cop also. He's a traffic cop on a motorcycle. I think he's
only really ever done traffic work. And he's really mean on duty. I'd
hate to be arrested by him! He's a grumpy dude.
I have no desire what so ever to do anything even remotely involving
police anything. I'm all burnt out on cop stuff having been raised be
cops again. I was a police cadet in high school though ( I forgot my
mum runs that program too!) I only did it because it looks good on
college apps. ( They lurve extra-curricular activities and I had many)
And that's all! My mum is damn cool! And that sounds like a really
nerdy thing to say.

Though I haven't
known Eldra long, I perceive in her the true passion for helping other
women realize the strength and esteem they have within them.
If you haven't seen her website, you definitely should. Warriors indeed
take on many forms and Eldra is beautiful and strong, passionate and
with compassion using her skills to help other women realize theirs.

Looks like
you're up to some really interesting and exciting things! One of the
things I love about teaching dance is working with women and seeing the
way it empowers them as they get comfortable with and take control of
their own bodies...so...yeah, I think we may have some interests in
common. :-) Thank you...!

Hi There Eldra!
I've always fancied myself as a fiery-Spirit, warrior Lady. ^_^
It's so funny that even as we've gotten older, it's still in us to be
Tomboys! ; )
I love it!
I am into archery-have my own bow and arrow-my husband got me them for
Christmas one year.
I ride horses just about every weekend.
I have two of my own hand guns and once shot 8th place out of 12 in an
all men shooting tournament-got pictures of that!
Not to mention I took about a year and a half of Aikido!
I'm glad to know that there are other adventerous babes out there! Take
care!

To
quote your website..."He was a psychic vampire...He sucked all my

Reminds me of what happened to me. Good terminology "psychic vampire".
Glad you healed & started up this site. I am healing and find
martial arts to be great discipline for learning to 'love oneself' and
'be a warrior woman'. Thanks so much!

(I totally agree that tenderness is at the heart of every true warrior.
Those who have experienced real violence don't crave it, they crave the
opposite and only fight when neccessary. :) Thanks! Eldra)
